We won an award!

We recently received the exciting news that we have been awarded the “Outstanding Security Sustainability Award” at the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs).

KIS Outstanding Security Sustainability Award

The OSPAs are an independent and inclusive award body, designed to recognise and reward companies, people and innovation across the security sector. The first OSPAs were held in Norway in 2015 and since then have been hosted in many different countries.

The judges are completely independent, maintain a strict code of ethics and assess nominations against the criteria set for the chosen category. To win this award therefore means a lot as it comes from industry experts, as opposed to phone votes or otherwise!

The award was won in collaboration with the Bristol Zoological Society and IDIS for the project we delivered at the Wild Place Project in Bristol.

The project involved designing and implementing a CCTV solution that would provide coverage of all the animal enclosures, woodland boundaries, and the visitor walkway.

In designing the solution we delivered an outcome that would allow the zookeepers to monitor:

  • The visitor walkway to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the visitors, as well as staff and volunteers, during opening times.
  • Inside the enclosures to check against environmental factors such as storm damage and fallen trees.
  • The animals themselves to check for wellbeing and behaviour.
  • The integrity of the boundary fence line for each enclosure.
